Malika Freeman

Region III Programs Chair

Greetings! I'm Malika Freeman, your enthusiastic Region 3 Programs Chairperson for the 2023-24 term. Hailing from the vibrant city of Birmingham, Alabama, I'm currently a junior at the University of Alabama, pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
My NSBE journey has been nothing short of amazing. I've had the privilege of serving on my Chapter Board, wearing multiple hats such as T.O.R.C.H Chair, Programs Chair, and Parliamentarian Chair. This multifaceted experience has allowed me to grow both as a leader and as a student passionate about the fields of engineering and technology.
When I'm not immersed in NSBE activities, you'll find me indulging in my diverse set of hobbies. I'm an avid reader, a music enthusiast who loves dancing to the rhythm of life, and an aspiring app developer, particularly on the Microsoft PowerApps platform. I'm always seeking new ways to combine creativity and technology to make the world a more exciting place.
Here's a quirky tidbit about me – I was born with two little openings at the top of my ears, which I lovingly refer to as "gills." As a kid, I would entertain my imagination by telling little girls that I was Ariel's long-lost sister from "The Little Mermaid". It's all in good fun, and it speaks to my playful and creative spirit.
I'm thrilled to be a part of the NSBE Region 3 leadership team and can't wait to embark on this exciting journey with you all as we work together to make NSBE even more vibrant and impactful. Let's dive into the adventure of 2023-24 together!
