Call for Proposals is Now Open for the
NSBE 2013 Annual Convention
The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is accepting proposals for educational sessions to be presented at its 2013 Annual Convention. Proposals are needed for 60-minute breakout sessions and the author’s pavilion. Proposals must be submitted electronically using the attached link.
Based on next year’s convention theme–#NSBE2013: Honoring Our Past: Driving our Community Forward--proposed sessions should fall under one of the following tracks:Blacks in Technology; Personal and Professional Development; Cultural and Community Awareness and Academic Excellence & Retention.

Presenters must have demonstrated expertise in their subject areas and come prepared to teach and challenge convention attendees. Sessions should equip attendees with skills and information that will increase their relevance in the newsroom and re-enforce the power of the written and spoken word and visual storytelling.
Each proposal will be reviewed by NSBE's Convention Planning Committee. The deadline for submissions is May 4, 2012. The person listed on the form as the coordinator will be notified of the status of their proposal in Fall of 2012.
The convention will take place March 27 - 31, 2013 at the Indiana Convention Center.
To keep registration rates low for members, NSBE does not pay for travel, hotel or meals for convention speakers and presenters. In many cases, the institutions or organizations of the speakers support the mission of NSBE by covering those costs.
