Welcome Message

Technical Professional Conference Coordinator Welcome Letter

The theme of the 38th Annual Convention is "The NSBE Blueprint: Leadership, Teamwork and Inspiration." As I recount my 15 years of multi-level involvement in NSBE, I am excited and honored to have the pleasure to serve as your 2012 Technical Professional Conference (TPC) Coordinator. I am calling on all Alumni Extension Members and STEM Professionals to join me in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for what will be a memorable and multifaceted conference experience. We have gone the extra mile to ensure you will gain a wealth of information that can be utilized immediately for workplace success, opportunities to network with executives, industry specific workshop & panels, and professional development training to assist you in getting to the next level, regardless where you are in your professional career endeavors. A sample of the 2012 TPC Events include:

  • 5th Annual TPC Alumni Kickoff Luncheon
  • Professional Workshops and Corporate Roundtables which include topics such as Technical Leadership, Lean Engineering, Networking, and Executive Panel to discuss Lessons in Leadership
  • Special Interest Group Activities
  • Entrepreneur Panels & Workshops
  • Technical and Leadership training with our Project Management Boot camp, Six Sigma Green Belt Certification Testing, and the new Emerging Leaders Program
  • 5th Annual Joint Alumni Regional Meeting and Luncheon
  • National Executive Mentoring Program
  • Serve and mentor the collegiate sector of the organization as workshop presenters and judges of our national competitions

Of course, there will be more opportunities to interact with our NSBE Jr. and Collegiate members through joint programming. The ultimate goal of the conference is to ensure you are equipped with the tools and knowledge so that when you leave convention and go back to your respective communities, you are energized to continue fulfilling the NSBE mission successfully.

The TPC planning committee has one overarching goal – to Pack Out Pittsburgh (POP)! Therefore, we solicit your full support and participation in making TPC 2012 P.O.P. as we positively impact the community. We want to flood the streets with so many engineers, mathematicians, scientists and IT professionals that the city continues to talk about us for the next five years. Be sure to visit the convention website regularly and connect with us on social media to receive updates and stay abreast of activities that will be taking place. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at tpc@nsbe-ae.org. I look forward to seeing you in the "City of Steel"!

Professionally Yours,

Nicholas Bartley
