Making History Today Making History Today

"During this month of February we are encouraged to look back and honor the contributions made by African Americans to the fabric of our nation and our world, to acknowledge the giants who laid the foundation for the opportunities we now enjoy. I believe this to be a worthy activity: knowing our history is essential to charting our path forward as a people."

Business Diversity Webinar

Wednesday, February 8th  7:30 PM EST

Project Management 101:

The best idea does not have the ability to come into fruition without the right plan. Having the ability to manage people, ideas, and tasks can be the difference between failure and success in any entrepreneurial endeavor. A successful Project Manager must simultaneously manage the four basic elements of a project: resources, time, money, and most importantly, scope. All these elements are interrelated. Each must be managed effectively. All must be managed together if the project, and the project manager, is to be a success. This webinar will leave you with the tools necessary to become a successful project manager.

Presenter Information: Whitney Gaskins

Whitney Gaskins is a mentor and community activist. She founded the Gaskins Foundation, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to educate and empower the African American community. She has previously served as the National Business Diversity Chairperson on the National Executive Board of the National Society of Black Engineers, and 2013 National Convention Planning Chairperson. Outside of NSBE, she is actively involved in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. As Miss Black Ohio 2009 she worked to improve the self- image of women by teaching ladies that beauty is only skin deep. Now as the state director of the Miss Black Ohio USA scholarship pageant she continues her mission to educate the youth through her foundation and inspire young women to believe in themselves.
