Awareness Month

February is Black History Month. March is Women’s History Month. February 16-22 is Engineer’s week. The Empowering African American Women in STEM Task Force is celebrating African American Women in STEM (especially engineering) from February 16-March 15. That this celebration will continue the conversation from our Twitter chat last month and update you on our progress in fulfilling the vision of Madame Chair. Our aim is to create a dialogue for all to engage in.

Let’s get #AAWiSTEM trending for the next few weeks. We’ll take the lead, but we want you to participate. When we profile prominent AAWiSTEM, we want you to show how their work impacted you. We’ll share some of the statistics about AAWiSTEM and encourage you to show what that stat means in your own STEM way. As we engage, invite others to join the conversation.

Gentlemen, this is your place to be engaged too, we need your support to shine. This isn’t just about us empowering each other, it’s about gathering all of the resources and momentum necessary to translate that empowerment into success.
