We are excited to announce the launch of NSBE’s Healthcare Innovation Special Interest Group (HISIG). HISIG believes a sustained effort to cultivate Black innovators for the healthcare industry will enhance the quality of life and improve the life expectancy within the Black community.

The Mission of the HISIG is “to promote the development and implementation of innovations that will improve diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injury, illness, and disease.”

The HISIG’s Mission will be accomplished through our CARE Strategy.

  • Connect NSBE members interested in Healthcare Innovation with Healthcare Professionals in Academia, Government, and Industry for Mentorship, Professional Development and or Career opportunities.
  • Advance Healthcare Innovation through Research, Development and Commercialization.
  • Recruit & Retain members interested in Healthcare Innovation.
  • Educate & Expose NSBE members and the Black community to Healthcare Disparities, Innovations, and Careers.

Participation in NSBE’s HISIG is open to all active NSBE Members (NSBE Jr., Collegiate, Professional, and Affiliate). We welcome those from all technical backgrounds that are interested in Healthcare Innovation to engage with us through the HISIG Community on My NSBE Connect and our future HISIG events.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns please don’t hesitate to email us at sighealthcare@nsbe.org. We look forward to engaging with you and potentially meeting you in person at our next upcoming event!
