Welcome to NSBE-Professionals - Process Improvement SIG.

On behalf of the PI SIG Board, I would like to welcome you all to the PI SIG and I am looking forward to the interaction with you all throughout this year.

The mission of the NSBE Process Improvement SIG is to establish and build NSBE’s corporate presence as a player within the Process Improvement (PI) consulting industry, grow our network in the Process Improvement (PI) community and serve as a process improvement consulting arm for NSBE.

The PI SIG is currently deploying a process improvement certification training partnerships with the Shingo Prize organization, and provides members’ opportunities to apply their knowledge and skills set to real world organizational problems.

Participation in NSBE Process Improvement SIG is open to the Professional Members, Lifetime Members, and Honorary Members. Other NSBE Members with an interest in Process Improvement that do not meet this requirement may participate by attending any meeting, workshop or event sponsored by this Special Interest Group.

Prospective members must sign up as a project volunteer or agree to serve on at least one Project Team, Committee or Task Force.

Process Improvement Special Interest Group Director

Mr. Brian Jackson, SSBG - Process Improvement Special Interest Group Director

Brian Jackson manages the deployment of UPPAP effort for United Technologies Aerospace Systems – Engine Systems Division, where he leads a team that is responsible for the integration of these initiatives into the entire supply base supporting the successful launch of the Next-Gen Pure Power Engine Platform.

He has been a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) since 1998, where he founded his collegiate chapter at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.  After serving as the president of this chapter throughout his collegiate career, he has moved into the professional ranks serving in numerous capacities on all levels of the organization.  He is one of the co-founders of the Process Improvement SIG.  He has also served as the Region IV-AE Conference Manager & Secretary, National Alumni Professional Development Chair, National Alumni Chair-Elect, AE Chair (2009-10), & Chair-Emeritus.

The Process Improvement SIG is launching a Shingo Prize Lean Bronze Belt Certification Curriculum this year geared toward engineers looking to enhance the technical skill set.  The training is set to kickoff at the National Professional Development Conference in Phoenix and culminates at the Technical Professional Conference in Anaheim.  There are a multitude of ways you can get involved.
