A last message from 2014-2015 Region III PEB Chair Marcus Scott

As the 2014-2015 NSBE fiscal year comes to an end, I reflect on what an awesome year we have had in Region III and throughout NSBE. We’ve added new professional chapters including Knoxville and Memphis, TN; and we’re working to add a new Haiti international chapter to the family. Thanks to the efforts of the Finance zone, the region hosted its first regional golf fundraising event during FRC in Tampa, FL. that was a great catalyst to connect collegiate and professional members that hopefully we can reproduce for FRC 2015 in Memphis, TN. For the first time in recent years, our Programs zone helped sponsor 6 PCI chapters (CSRA Augusta, UAT NSBE Jr., Eastside High School, Newberry High School, CANSBE Jr., and Chamblee) attend National Convention. Additionally, our awesome communication zone superseded all expectations by significantly improving communications throughout the region all while increasing our Facebook and Twitter followers.  All of this momentum would not have been possible without you and all of the awesome NSBE servant leaders that represent Region III. I would like to personally thank the 2014-2015 Region III Professional Executive Board for all their efforts and energy to elevate Region III and the NSBE professional brand.

For those who weren’t able to join us in Anaheim, CA for the 41st National Convention, you missed one of the best conventions in NSBE’s 41-year history.  With over 9000 PCI, collegiate, and professional members in attendance, the pipeline was definitely well represented. Likewise the technical professionals conference was certainly the most elite I’ve ever experienced in my 15 year NSBE history.

Throughout the convention there were several awards and distinguished honors bestowed upon Region III and its members.  To name a few, Regional Professional Member of the year was awarded to Mrs. LaDahvia Fowler of the Atlanta Professionals Chapter, Professional Chapter of the Year went to the dynamic Central Kentucky Professionals Chapter, and Region III was also recognized for bringing the most PCI students to convention.

It has been a distinct honor and pleasure to serve as your Region III Professional Chair person and I look forward to continued success from Region III as I pass the Torch to our New Region III Chair-Elect Mr. Reginald Archer.

Best Regards,

Marcus Scott
