The National Leadership Institute has matured from a four-day leadership conference to a year round development and training initiative. NLI encompasses the National Leadership Conference, six Regional Leadership Conferences, and leadership enhancement activities and workshop through the year for all members. On this website you will find information on ways to improve your leadership skills.
Conferences
National Leadership Conference (NLC)
The National Leadership Conference is NSBE’s premier training program for national and regional officers. Participants receive training in such areas as budgeting, expense management, public relations, and funds solicitation. They will also learn soft skills such as effective communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
The 2012 National Leadership Conference is June 6th-10th in New London, CT. The theme of NLC and the Regional Leadership Conferences (RLC) is "Leadership: A Catalyst for Positive Change." Be sure to preview the useful and thought-provoking content of NLC by downloading the agenda.
Regional Leadership Conferences (RLC)
Each region hosts a Regional Leadership Conferences to provide NSBE leaders on the Chapter level an opportunity to learn the functional duties of their positions as well as critical team building and project management skills.
Online and Conference PDU/CEUs
Technical Professional Members will have the opportunity to participate in professional courses in areas related to professional development skills training and technical certifications. NSBE provides a number of opportunities to engage in training through our Fall Regional (Professional Development) Conferences, our annual convention, and through virtual web-based training. We are continually expanding our cache of training courses through collaboration with our strategic partners, who provide targeted training in areas such as LEED certification, Six Sigma training, and Project Management training to name a few.
