Biography

 

Darius Carter is a first year PhD student studying Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Virginia hailing from Richmond, Virginia. He was member of the marching band, a 4th year trustee (senior class council), Vice President of the Iota Beta chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, and a Tutor for the Center for Diversity in Engineering at UVA. He is currently conducting aerospace research on aircraft wings and laminar flow. This year as Membership Chair he plans to expand the access to NSBE and continue to charter chapters in the region. He also wants to focus on strengthening the pipeline and encouraging chapter collaboration for the upcoming year. When not doing the work of NSBE he likes to watch Netflix, play basketball, and listen to music. He is very excited and can’t wait to serve as your 2017-2018 Region II Membership Chair. 2222 HYPE!!!
