Greetings from your RLC
Greetings NSBE Leaders.
My name is John Bailey Jr., and it is a privilege and an honor to serve as your 2017-2018 Region II Regional Leadership Conference (RLC) Chairperson! It is with great excitement that I announce this year’s Leadership Conference, “Reaching your Highest Peak”, which will be held at the Westfields Marriott Washington Dulles, in Chantilly, VA from Friday, August 18th to Sunday, August 20th. This year’s conference will prepare you with the skills and knowledge needed to push your chapters to new heights of achievement and excellence. As the Society moves closer towards the goal of #NSBE2025, we must maintain a progressive mindset, and understand that while we are already great in our own respects, there is always room to improve and grow.
The purpose of RLC is to train chapter leaders, by providing positional skills training, professional and leadership development, and technical skills with the opportunity to network with your peers. My goal is to ensure that each of you leave the conference prepared to excel in your role, with a variety of skills that will ensure you are ready to tackle any challenges ahead, and that you are best positioned to serve your chapter members. Additionally, you will engage with leaders across the region to exchange ideas, build relationships with your fellow NSBE family, and establish our unity in order to tackle our new regional objectives: Membership Success and Community Engagement.
At this conference, you will gain first-hand access to members of your REB, RAB, NEB, and Region II Professionals, who are dedicated to your development, and the success of your term and chapter. You will develop skills in strategic planning, project planning and management, and other proficiencies that will serve you far beyond your position this year. You will become more capable in accomplishing the goals you set for your team, as well as the ones you set for yourself. This conference will not only make you a better leader for your chapter, but a better leader for the society you will serve after you graduate. We will work towards fulfilling the mission, establishing smart goals, and achieving in ways that can only be done by “The Model Region”. I hope you will take full advantage of this opportunity, as this can prove to be very beneficial to starting your year on a strong note, and providing a solid foundation for your future achievements.
I am excited to serve you this year, and I look forward to seeing you this August!
Stay 2 HYPE!!!
