Greetings from your Danger

Zone Coordinator!

Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!

Keep Calm and Welcome to the Danger Zone! My name is Leslie Ope and I am honored to be selected as your Danger Zone Coordinator for the 2017-2018 academic year. I’m a senior at the University of Delaware, majoring in Chemistry with minors in Arabic and Organizational and Community Leadership. In addition to my academic endeavors I have the privilege of representing my University as a member of the Women’s Varsity Track and Field team as a top hurdler and captain. In addition to running, I like learning new languages, cooking, food, playing Uno and cultivating relationships.

With that being said, I am Determined and Ambitious about Nurturing Genuine Engineering Relationships within the D.A.N.G.E.R Zone this year. For me, NSBE was the first organization outside of sports that offered me a home on my campus. As a Region 2 Zone Coordinator my main goal is to increase the cohesion among Nsbe Jr., Professional and Collegiate Chapters within Region 2. It is imperative that every student or professional navigating through STEM knows that they are not alone and that we are stronger together! I will work hard every day to ensure that all of you have a tremendous NSBE experience like the one I had during my undergraduate tenure.

You all represent NSBE in the classroom, in the workplace and in the community. I hope that it is clear that NSBE is not about one person, one leader or even one Zone. It is about those who came before us, those who are here now and those who will come long after we are gone.

Our predecessors have left a rich legacy and their contributions and effort are worthy of emulation. With that being said, with the established foundation set from the previous zone coordinators, I hope to help the Danger Zone to many successes and create a home for you all within Region 2.

Feel free to say hello or reach out to me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I am looking forward to meeting you all on some level.

Always my best,

Leslie Ope

Region II Danger Zone Coordinator
