Registration and General Information

The SEEK program accepts students on a first come, first serve basis. Priority is given to returning students for a limited amount of time. SEEK does not pre-screen students.
To participate in SEEK, students must be at least 8 years old and is expected to complete the 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades for the 2014-2015 school year (2nd graders are ineligible for the program). Students MUST
be available for the entire 3 week program.

SEEK will accept 100 students per grade level totaling 300 students per program.
Acceptance into SEEK is on a rolling basis (Until all spaces are filled) for sites that reach capacity we will hold a waitlist for a total of 100 students, 33 children per grade.
Each registered student will receive an OFFICIAL Acceptance or Waitlist* letter by email beginning in March. Please ensure your email is entered correctly and one that you check regularly as email is SEEK's main source of communication before, during and after the program.
If you do NOT receive an Acceptance or Wait list letter, your registration may not have been submitted successfully or there was a problem with your email. Please contact Quiana Piggee-Palmer, SEEK Coordinator at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-549-2207 ext. 242 with registration questions.
Students placed on the waitlist will be considered in order of application submission date, if spots become available. As spots become available, we will continue accepting students from the waitlist through the first day of the program. In the event a spot becomes available you will be contacted by phone or email.
*Due to the high demand of the program, we are unable to provide specific information regarding our waitlist including, but not limited to position number, etc
Duration: Three (3) weeks (per site)
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Times may vary in certain locations)
*Before/ After care is NOT PROVIDED or COORDINATED by NSBE, SEEK
Students MUST be dropped off no earlier than 8:30am and picked up no later than 3:30pm.
Due to the high demand of the SEEK program, we require that students participate in the entire 3 weeks of the program
. Students who are unable to meet this requirement will forfeit their spot in the program. Attendance is taken daily.
Parent involvement is an integral part of the sustainability and growth of the SEEK program. We require all parents to attend a mandatory parent orientation and student check-in session held before the program begins (date and location TBA on website and by email once available). Parents who do not attend the Orientation will forfeit their child's spot to a student on the waiting list. If you are unable to attend the mandatory orientation, you must arrange for a representative to attend on behalf of your child.
This person can be a friend, family member, neighbor, another SEEK Parent etc.
