The mission of the Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is to support and encourage K-12 participation in STEM.  Through hands-on STEM activities, trivia style academic games, and informative talks from real engineers, PCI programming is an effort to ensure healthy pipeline development in STEM fields and to stop the leakage of our young talent out of STEM related educational and career paths.

NSBE Professionals work with our Collegiate counterparts to offer several engineering competitions for 6-12th grades to local NSBE Jr. chapters including:

  • Try-Math-A-Lon (TMAL)
  • Mathcounts
  • VEX Robotics
  • First Lego League
  • Kidwind
  • NSBE Jr. Explorers
  • Ten80 Student Racing Challenge

In the summer NSBE offers Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) in several locations across the country. In addition, there KidZone activities for students below 12 years of age at regional conferences and national convention.
