Welcome

It is my great honor to welcome you to Region 1s 2009 Fall Regional Conference at the Radisson Hotel Rochester Riverside and the Rochester Convention Center in Rochester, New York. The Rochester Convention Center will provide a venue suited for creating Foundations for excellence within academics and professional development.

At the 2009 Regional Leadership Conference we took it Back to the Basics and prepared to find the calibration of leadership within Region 1. As we continue into the year we will aspire to achieve new limits, and even surpass the same. Based on the feedback from previous FRCs, we not only found a convention center properly suited for a Region 1 FRC, but we also brought you the FIRST 4-day Fall Regional Conference of the organization. Utilizing these changes, and more, Region 1 will be working towards our theme of Engineering a Global Impact.

By restructuring the layout of the conference, competition participants will no longer feel they have missed the conference. We will also positively impact the community by encouraging attendees to participate in community service initiatives. In Engineering a Global Impact, we look to design a path to eliminate the geographical barriers and make the members of the NSBE family a valuable commodity across the world. The 09-10 Region 1 Executive Board is proud to bring you the 2009 Fall Regional Conference. We hope that it will be an enjoyable experience that leaves you more equipped to excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the Globe.
