Region 1 NSBE Jr. members!
My name is Ricardo Theodore, your 2009 -2010 Pre-College Initiative (PCI) Conference Planning Chairperson. On behalf of the entire Region 1 executive board I would like to welcome you all to attend our 2009 Fall Regional Conference (FRC)!
The PCI Mini Conference is a segment of FRC that is focused specifically on the development of NSBE Jr. members as the future leaders of the NSBE and the world as a whole. During this portion of the Fall Regional Conference, you will gain a better understanding of how science, technology, engineering, and mathematics can be powerful tools which can help you be successful technical professionals in the future. In addition, you will learn how NSBE can help you achieve your goals for personal and professional growth.
The theme of the 2009 FRC is “Engineering a Global Impact.” Within this theme, the focus of the PCI Mini Conference is “The classroom-The office-The world.” This year’s PCI Mini Conference will provide NSBE Jr. members a hands-on opportunity to learn how your own development in each of those areas can allow you have the growth necessary to leave a lasting impact that will stretch beyond the borders of your own homes.
Many of you who have been to a Region 1 FRC in the past have left the conference saying, “I wish I could stay longer” or “if only there was more time.” To address your desire for more, we are proud to announce that we are now bringing an FRC that is even bigger and better than those of the past. This year’s conference will be particularly special as all of us in Region FIRST live up to our name with the FIRST ever four day FRC! First time attendees, hold on to your hats. The 2009 Fall Regional Conference will not be an experience to forget. We are excited to have you all on board!
