Zone Coordinator's Welcome

Greetings End Zone,

It is with my pleasure to welcome you to another exciting NSBE year. I am more than thrilled to be serving as your End Zone Coordinator this year. My name is Vera Kargbo and I am senior at The Pennsylvania State University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental and Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering. I have been an active member of NSBE since my freshman year of college and have served on the Chapter Executive Board at Penn State as P.C.I Chairperson and Vice President. I am extremely passionate about this wonderful organization and home to make a positive influence on the zone and region as a whole.

Some of the goals that I have for this year are to unify the chapters within the End Zone by encouraging the formation of buddy chapters, promoting participation in Regional and National Programs, serving as a liaison between the End Zone and the Regional Executive Board, reactivating inactive chapters, and fostering leadership skills. We can also increase our presence within the Region by actively adhering to our Regional and National Directives. These goals contribute to the fulfillment of NSBE’s mission by increasing our responsibility as black engineering students, pushing us to work hard and strive for academic excellence, enhancing our knowledge of business and our various career areas in order to succeed professionally, and making us more aware of our communities so that we may positively impact it.

I look forward to serving all of you this year and want to encourage you to not just know the NSBE mission and say it, but to live it each and every day. I hope for the End Zone to be one of the greatest zones in Region 2 history!
