Zone Coordinator's Welcome

Greetings O-Zone,
 
I hope you are prepared for an eventful, educational, and fun-filled year!  I am more than ready and elated to guide you along this enlightening journey.  I am a senior at Norfolk State University pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering.  In the previous years, I have served as chapter president and community service chair at Norfolk State University.  My involvement in NSBE has improved my leadership, time management, and collaboration skills, which is consistently preparing me for my near future as a professional engineer.

My goals as coordinator stem from the regional directives of promoting academic excellence and leadership development.  Some of these goals include promoting buddy chapters, increasing active members, developing leaders, recognizing scholars, and rewarding deserving chapters.  I also intend on assembling a committee that will work alongside the Regional Executive Board in order to further develop their leadership skills.  Finally, I will impress the regional directives on members using chapter visits and zone summits across Virginia.

As a zone, I expect each chapter to have a knack for putting the NSBE mission into action.  Each member should enforce the principles of our original founders by excelling academically, participating in community service projects, and ultimately, using gained professional skills toward a prosperous career.  I want to encourage each and every one of you to explore the many opportunities NSBE has to offer; next year may be your year to take a leadership position and give back to the organization, just as I have done!
