Try-Math-A-Lon
Greetings NSBE Family,
My name is Bianca Brown and I am your 2008-2009 Regional TMAL Coordinator. I am very excited about this upcoming competition, and know that this will prove to be a very successful year for our students.
This year, we as a society are trying to get back to the basics. Our Try-Math-A-Lon competition was developed not only to reflect the NSBE-AE's goal of providing encouragement, motivation and incentive for pre-college students, but also sharpen the interest and skills in mathematics, science and engineering of the students.
There are a few critical items that I want to highlight:
- Registration for TMAL is available ONLINE via NOL starting August 1, 2008.
- The registration deadline is September 26, 2008.
- Please note that each city/area should be hosting local competitions. Only the top teams from the local competitions will be eligible to register for the Regional competition. Your local AE PCI Chair should be hosting your local competitions. If there is not an AE Chapter in your city, please contact me as soon as possible so we can begin to coordinate a local chapter for your city.
- The deadline to host your local competition is November 7, 2008.
- Results from the local competition must be submitted to the Regional TMAL Coordinator no later than Wednesday November 12, 2008, in order to be eligible to participate in the Regional competition.
- All local competitions have to be approved by the Regional TMAL Coordinator prior to them being conducted.
- There will be NO onsite registration for TMAL at FRC.
