As the 2006-2007 Region IV Pre College Initiative Chair, I am honored to invite you to enjoy another year with NSBE. If you are new member, WELCOME! I guarantee that you will not regret being a part of this prestigious organization. This year, I foresee nothing but blessings, entertainment and contentment as we Increase the Potential in Numbers (I.PiN) with brand new National initiatives and programs.

In addition to the traditional Try-Math-A-Lon (TMAL) competition and Achiever’s Plus (A+) we will implement two new activities at Fall Regional Conference (FRC) called Kid’s Zone, which will promote math, science, engineering, and technology topics to children in grades 3-5 and the Technical Wild’n Out! where students will be challenged to come up with creative ideas to describe engineering items, inventions, NSBE history and so on.

But wait, there’s more! There will also be spanking new Regional Initiatives developed to”Strengthen the Pipeline” through a buddy system, where every re-chartered and newly chartered NSBE Jr. chapter will be paired up with a Collegiate/Alumni chapter to ensure that their world is enhanced academically, technically, and leadership wise, in order to maximize their opportunities in life.

I challenge you become active in THE MOST hype component of the Program’s Zone. I urge each of you to feel energetic about all the programs and activities that NSBE’s Pre-College Initiative Program has to offer.
