Hello NSBE Jr. Members!
My name is Cortlan Wickliff and I am your 2009-2010 Region 5 PCI Chair. The time for Region 5 Summer Camping Conference (SCC) is upon us again. The conference will be held Friday July 17th – July 19th, at the University of Houston in Houston, Texas. And you can register on NSBE nol starting NOW!!!
The Conference is $25 for NSBE members and $30 for non-NSBE members. This fee will include room and board for two days, as well as meals for the weekend.
Last year's SCC exceeded expectations, and got a lot of positive feedback. So SCC vets will see some familiar activities, presentations & workshops. However, you, the NSBE Jr. Membership, said that the agenda needed to be more hands on and interactive. Because of that feedback, SCC will see a few new competitions. These competitions will be fun and challenging, and they will test your ingenuity as well as your teamwork and problem solving ability. There will also an interactive panel discussion featuring collegian students willing to answer any question you may have about your next level of study (so start thinking now). And there will be a few other surprises that you will have to come and see.
We, your Regional Executive Board, feel that SCC will be an exciting kick off to the region's fiscal year. For the coming year Region 5 wants to "Build a foundation to unify". As such, we want you to leave this conference with a greater understanding of engineering as well as new contacts that spanning the region. So sign up on NSBE NOL today, and don't forget to invite a friend.
