Fall Regional Conference 2009
“Engineering a Global Impact”
October 30th – November 1st, 2009
Tulsa, Oklahoma
This conference is the premier event for NSBE Jr., Collegiate, and Alumni members of Region 5 to network and strive towards fulfilling the mission of the society. Conference participants receive the full benefits of the conference through engaging workshops, competitions, and networking opportunities that truly exemplify “excelling academically, succeeding professionally and positively impacting the community.” The Region 5 Executive Board (REB) cordially invites you to participate in the annual Region 5 Engineering and Technical Career Fair on October 31st. By Attending this event, it gives each company a phenomenal opportunity to meet Region 5's brightest students and technical professionals. At this conference, each demographic can participate in an assortment of training opportunities. Equally as important is the presence of our corporations as they provide the operational needs of the conference and career advancement opportunities at the career fair. Hence, this is an ideal opportunity for mutual benefits to be exchanged between the sponsors and the membership.
The Fall Regional Conference consists of several “mini-conferences” which include: the Pre-Collegiate Initiative Mini-Conference, the Graduate School Mini-Conference, and the Professional Development Conference (PDC), to provide a diverse conference that touches all demographics. Region 5 is also proud to continue setting the standard by having the second annual International Mini-Conference in conjunction with the Graduate School Mini-Conference. Pre-college students can learn about engineering professions via round table discussions, competitions, and interactions with collegiate members. Collegiate members can become skilled at test taking and time management, brush up on professional etiquette and financial management, while learning about the importance of professional licensure. Professionals can acquire highly sought after certifications, skill sets and Continuing Education Units (CEU) while keeping up with new technologies in one of our many Special Interest Groups.
