SWE is the world’s largest advocate for all women in engineering and technology, offering a vast pool of resources to nurture personal and professional development. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career for women through an array of training and development programs, networking opportunities, scholarships, outreach and advocacy activities.

Empowering Women to Achieve

SWE’s mission is to empower women to achieve their full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity.

SWE’s four goals are as relevant today as they were at the Society’s inception:

  1. There will be an increase in women choosing to enter the engineering and technology fields.
  2. Women in engineering and technology will excel professionally, and their achievements will be showcased and valued.
  3. SWE will be a catalyst for changing the professional climate to enable women in engineering and technology to excel.
  4. Women in engineering and technology and SWE stakeholders will find value in SWE as a diverse, inclusive, global community.
