  1. Chicago Cultural Center - As the nation's first free municipal cultural center, the Chicago Cultural Center is one of the city's most popular attractions and is considered one of the most comprehensive arts showcases in the United States. Each year, the Chicago Cultural Center features more than 1,000 programs and exhibitions covering a wide range of the performing, visual and literary arts.
  2. Garfield Park Conservatory – One of the largest greenhouse conservatories in the United States which is often referred to as "landscape art under glass".  Covering approximately 4.5 acres the conservatory contains a number of permanent plant exhibits incorporating specimens from around the world (including some cyads that are over 200 years old).
  3. Smart Museum of Art - An art museum located on the campus of the University of Chicago with over 15,000 permament objects.
  4. Museum of Contemporary Photography - Established in 1967, it is one of the world's largest contemporary art venues.  The museum's collection is comprised of thousands of objects of Post-World War II visual art.

  3. Maggie Daley Park - A 20-acre public park in the Loop community area of Chicago is connected to Millienium Park by BP Pedestrian Bridge.  The park is named for the former first lady with the features of a field house, an ice skating ribbon, climbing walls, tennis courts, landscaping and children's playground.  The garden within the park is in honor of cancer survivors.
  4. The Peggy Notebart Nature Museaum - The museum focuses on the natural history of the Chicago region, child and adult education, and is known for its live butterfly house.


  1. MLB - Chicago is home to two major league teams (Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox).  During the Professional Development Conference the Chicago White Sox will host the Los Angeles Rangers the evening of Thursday, September 28th.  The 2017 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs will host the Cincinnatti Reds Friday, September 29th through Sunday, October 1st.
  2. NHL - The Chicago Blackhawks will host the Boston Bruins Saturday, September 30th for a preseason matchup at the United Center.
