Solving our country's complex infrastructure and construction demands takes leadership in Project Management and delivery excellence. This workshop is presented by four accomplished industry leaders, each representing their accomplishments and experiences in Project Management. These panelists are leading the way in their communities, managing some of the most complex infrastructure projects such as upgrading our nation's business airports and improving city transportation systems. This NSBE Professional workshop is geared towards the practicing project manager who will be able to learn about current and new trends in the Project Management industry. Also, open to aspiring professionals who are interested to learn the necessary skills required to be a successful Project Manager. This workshop is sponsored by CH2M, a recognized leader in Project and Program Management.


About the Panel



Johnny Jackson

Johnny Jackson is CH2M’s Program Manager the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport $22.5 Million On-Call Design and Design Management project and has been with the company for 11 years. Prior to relocating to Dallas, TX, he worked on the City of Chicago’s $6.6B O'Hare Modernization Program as part of the Master Civil Engineers Joint Venture.   Mr. Jackson graduated from the University of Louisville's Speed Scientific School with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering. His community involvement has included NSBE, the City of Chicago’s "SAFE Summer" Youth Aviation Program, and most recently, is founding board member for the Tuskegee NEXT Program and held the position as Chairman of the programs Mentorship/Life skills Committee.   The program offers at-risk youths the opportunity to obtain an all expensed paid private pilot’s license.


Daniel-Baah.pngDaniel Baah, P.E.

Daniel Baah, P.E., is a Principal Project Manager at CH2M. He brings extensive experience managing and delivering large and complex transportation infrastructure projects. At CH2M, he has served in various leadership roles with responsibilities in technology, project delivery, staffing, and quality assurance/control. He earned a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of East London, U.K. and a M.S. in Civil Engineering (Highways and Transport) from the City University, London, United Kingdom. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio and the District of Columbia.



Aaron Chanowitz, P.E.

Aaron Chanowitz, P.E., is a Vice President and Project/Program Manager at CH2M, and has led diverse teams of engineers, planners and others in delivering some of the most interesting and challenging infrastructure projects. With over 30 years of professional experience, Aaron has served in leadership positions on multi-disciplinary planning, design and construction projects for: Roadways, Freeways and Tollways; watershed and flood studies; dams; site developments and parks; oil and gas facilities; utilities; traffic studies; bicycle trails; hydrology, hydraulics and bridge scour; railroads; and airports. Aaron has also served in several business-leadership positions including Business Development Manager, Portfolio Manager, Midwest Geographic Segment Leader for Highways, Operations Leader and Staffing Manager. Mr. Chanowitz holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland in College Park. 


David-Robbins.png David Robbins

David Robbins is a Projects Administrator Design & Construction/Sustainability & Environment for the City of Chicago. He currently oversees the modernization of the 2nd largest centralized heating and refrigeration plant in the U.S. at O’Hare International Airport. This project includes 34,000 ton-chilled water replacement & upgrades including controls upgrade/modernization and is in process of high temperature/high pressure water generator replacement program. He joined the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) in 2008 as Projects Administrator for Design and Construction of the O’Hare Modernization Program, transforming the O’Hare International Airport airfield from an outdated system of intersecting runways into a modern parallel runway configuration. Mr. Robbins is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University’s College of Technology and earned a B.S. in Aviation Management, and an M.S. in Interdisciplinary Technology (concentrations in Emergency and Aviation Management). 


Myesha-McClendon.png Myesha McClendon

Myesha McClendon is an Electrical Engineering Design Section Manager and the Aviation Design Manager at Milhouse Engineering & Construction, Inc. She is committed to excellence, devoted to her community, and has a talent for managing complex projects and events with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask with an exuberant personality. Ms. McClendon has successfully managed multimillion-dollar design and construction projects including airport runways, air traffic control towers, hospital intensive care units and community parks. She is a NSBE alum, where she served on the executive board as the NSBE representative for students majoring in General Engineering. Her community involvement includes being the co-coordinator for the Chicago Chapter of MATHCOUNTS ® and is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., serving as her chapter’s Technology Chairman. Ms. McClendon received her B.S. in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
