Joshua Gray

A self-described wise transformation leader, Dr JL (Joshua) Gray is a management consultant, engineering professor, and community organizer committed to organizational effectiveness, operational efficiency, and technology innovation. JL has spent over 20 years creating breakthrough results, intentional outcomes, and resilient solutions in academia, government, and industry. Joshua is passionate about transforming diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education, public service, and health systems. As the Principal Consultant of Lukman Consulting Group, Dr Gray is improving academic public healthcare and as the Founding Co-Director of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics with JAS he is empowering minority professionals. JL is also Professor in the Practice at Rice University’s Center for Engineering Leadership and a Part-time Lecturer at Georgia Tech’s School of Industrial & Systems Engineering. Additionally, he serves as the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Houston Professionals Chapter President and the NSBE Healthcare Innovation Group Treasurer. Prior to his current roles, Dr Gray was a transformation leader at Booz Allen Hamilton, the General Electric Company, and the Raytheon Technologies Corporation who sponsored his National GEM Consortium Graduate Fellowship. JL is a certified Project Management Professional, Six-Sigma Black Belt, and Health Technology Engineer. Additionally, Joshua earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Southern California, Master of Science degree in Management Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Florida State University.
