Kevin Banks

Kevin B. Banks Jr works at Medtronic as a Field Service Engineer (FSE) II under the Minimally Invasive Therapies Group (MITG) business unit. In this role, he provides exceptional customer service and technical support to repair medical devices like ventilators and neonate dialysis machines in clinical settings. Within his territory of the greater Houston area, Kevin manages a portfolio of over 15 accounts with 175+ ventilators between them. Kevin enjoys the dynamics of his role as an FSE because each day presents a new set of challenges. Kevin is also the founder of Just The Right Amount, LLC (JTRA), established in 2019. He founded JTRA with an emphasis on helping Black and brown students minimize their student loan debt by applying for non-institutional scholarships to finance their college education. Kevin's service offerings through Just The Right Amount span from strategic 1:1 college application planning and career development coaching, to community and corporate scholarship consulting via workshops and group sessions. Kevin is a trained Biomedical Engineer, having received his undergraduate degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering in 2018. He is a recipient of multiple scholarships and awards, many of which he used to fund his collegiate education. A Westside of Chicago native, Kevin is a proud Chicagoan, avid community leader, and strong advocate for education and youth empowerment. He served as the 2018- 2019 Regional Chair and succeeding Chair Emeritus for the 4th International Region under the National Society of Black Engineers. Kevin is a board member for the Chicago Engineers Foundation and continues to serve as a mentor to various students and young professionals alike.
