Richard Ezike

Richard Ezike is an expert on transportation equity, environmental sustainability, and STEM education outreach. He currently works as the Director of Infrastructure and Engagement at CHPlanning Ltd., where he leads the firm’s projects around infrastructure and community engagement. He has worked for the Urban Institute, Union of Concerned Scientists, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation. He has advised on transportation issues for federal agencies such as the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and the Environmental Protection Agency; and for organizations such as the Transportation Research Board, Smart Growth America, the Greenlining Institute, Securing America’s Future Energy, and the State Innovation Exchange. He is also passionate about supporting the current and next generations of Black engineers and scientists through his involvement with the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Within NSBE, he currently serves as the Professionals Chair Emeritus for Region 2, which oversees 15 chapters in 7 states in the Mid-Atlantic region. He previously served as the President of the Washington DC Professionals Chapter from 2017 – 2019. Dr. Ezike holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a B.S. in chemical engineering from North Carolina State University.
