As an organization, whose mission is to "increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community", the development and implementation of creative, engaging, and interactive programs that serve and support all demographics of the society is critical for the advancement of the organization and its members.

In particular, NSBE provides a variety of programs in the following core areas: academic excellence, community impact, pre-college initiative, chapter development, and technical excellence. With a particular focus on academic excellence this year, some NSBE programs and initiatives include the Retention Program, APEX, GPA Initiative, Scholarships, Technical Research Exhibition, NSBE Hackathon, Engineering Olympics, and much more.

Other staple Region II programming includes an entire mini-conference for NSBE Jr. students at the Fall Regional Conference (FRC). At this mini-conference, students can engage in the Tri-Math-A-Lon (TMAL), NASCAR Ten80, First Lego League, and Vex Robotics competitions. Additionally, with NSBE's new focus on supporting the next generation of black entrepreneurs, Region II engages in a program entitled NSBEpreneur which includes the Training Institute, Elevator Pitch Competitions, Business Plan Development, and Tech Expos.

Region II engages the community through TORCH programs that fall into the domain of Informal Science and Engineering, Technical Expertise Services, STEM Community Training, A Walk for Education, and Community Service.  To see what programs are available in your area,
