Townsend Brown is an Associate Manager for the F-22 Integrated Maintenance Information System (IMIS) software development team. In this position, he oversees the requirements, design, development, testing, qualification, and documentation of the database and operating system for IMIS. He is responsible for the training and coaching of Agile team members and ensuring that the teams successfully integrate to meet major milestones for the program. He has over 12 years of experience in C++, C, Java, object-oriented design, web development, and project management. 

Townsend is a graduate of the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Advanced Technical Leadership Program. In this program, he served as a Cross Platform Integrator on the Mission Systems & Weapons team. He was the project lead for the Mission Systems & Weapons Online Academy, where he managed schedule and content creation across an Aeronautics-wide team and LM Fellows. He also served as the project lead for several other Aeronautics-wide initiatives and represented Mission Systems & Weapons at core engineering events. 

Previous experience includes Software Engineer for the F-22 PVI team, F-16 MFDS team, and F-22 Ground Systems Software IMIS team. In these roles, Townsend designed and tested software for use on F-22/F-16 displays using real-time simulation models. He also designed and tested software for use on IMIS desktop applications and database management systems. In all these roles, he wrote, tested, and verified requirements. Other experience included Multimedia Design Engineer serving as a design expert, responsible for developing and maintaining lesson courseware for use with the ATARS II training program in now-RMS.

Townsend currently serves as the National Professionals Executive Board Secretary for the National Society of Black Engineers, Vice-President of Operations for the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association, Communications Chair for the Mid-West Region of the Black Excellence Council, and on the advisory board for the NSBE Professionals of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics.

Born in Dallas, TX, Townsend earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and his Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Boston University.
