Chika L. Okwor

Hometown: Enugu State, Nigeria

​Chika L. Okwor graduated from Prairie View A&M University, with her Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and Mathematics and working her Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, you can say she might be a little bit of an overachiever. She is originally from Nigeria, born and raised and moved to the United States, the state of Texas to be exact in 2013 with her family. I think it is safe to say she is a Texan and a Houstonian now. She lives to give back to her community by volunteering in whatever way she can and forever grateful for all they have done for her. She loves cooking, baking, going to the gym, dancing, and collecting more books than she has time to read but working on reading them. Ms. Okwor has had the privilege to serve in various different roles in different organizations such as SGA, NAACP, EWB, ASCE and NSBE. She has served in NSBE on the CPC, Chapter and Regional level. She is honored to serve the Vanguard Region for the 2023-2024 term as Madam Chair.
