Seth Rylander

Ms. Seth Rylander is currently an Associate Systems Engineer. She was previously a Ship Integration Engineer and an Assistant Program Manager (APM) at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC. Ms. Rylander joined NAVSEA in 2015 as a Mechanical Engineer in the Naval Acquisition Development Program (NADP), performing diverse rotations throughout the Navy command, and successfully completed the program in 2017. Prior to entry in the NADP program, Ms. Rylander’s career assignments spanned research, academia, and industry such as serving as a Business Senior Analyst with Accenture Federal Services (AFS); and, as a researcher for the Center for Materials Research conducting experimental, characterization, and modeling studies on microelectromechanical (MEMS) thin-layer material devices. Ms. Rylander has been involved in multiple organizations throughout her undergraduate, graduate, and professional career including but not limited to: American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Engineers Without Borders (EWB), and Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Seth has been a NSBE member since 2002, as a NSBE Jr. member in Houston, Texas at Booker T. Washington/High School for the Engineering Professions (HSEP) Senior High School. She has served in various NSBE positions such as PCI Chair, Chapter Senator, Professionals Chapter Secretary, and most recently on the Region II Professionals Executive Board (PEB) as Secretary and Telecommunications Chair. Ms. Rylander is currently a member of the NSBE DC Professionals chapter and resides in the greater Washington DC area. Ms. Rylander, a native Texan, graduated from Prairie View A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She additionally earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
