Why NSBE?

Access to Top Engineering Talent

With nearly 16,000 members, the National Society of Black Engineers is one of the largest student-governed organizations in the country. Founded in 1975, NSBE now includes more than 500 chapters in the United States and abroad. NSBE’s mission is "to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community."

As companies have adopted diversity and inclusion as important focuses within their organization, NSBE aids in providing their recruiting needs. Every year, a little more than 3,000 African Americans graduate with a 4-year degree in engineering while the graduating national average is approximately 80,000 a year. As we actively engage in increasing this number, we also look to place our members in organizations across the country to be valuable members of their team.

Whether you recruit at our six Fall Regional Conferences, the Professional Development Conference, or our Annual Convention, you are sure to find talent in our vault. We also welcome you to partner with us through other avenues of outreach and special programs. We look forward to a successful partnership with you.

Partnership Opportunities

PDC Guide
NSBE Professional Development Conference Partnership Guide

Join us in Chicago, Sept. 28–Oct. 1, to connect with engineering talent at NSBE’s 2017 Professional Development Conference (PDC). Designed for both early-career and experienced professionals, as well as emerging leaders, the PDC serves as a springboard to propel the careers of engineering and STEM specialists to the next level.

Don’t miss this opportunity to showcase your organization to eager and enthusiastic engineering professionals. And, with attendance of 300 participants, your organization has the opportunity to interact with and recruit candidates in a smaller, more intimate setting.

Your support of the PDC will help equip African-American engineering students and professionals with the tools and tips they need to succeed and move their careers forward. For more information, please contact us via email at corp_relations@nsbe.org. We look forward to seeing you!

Save the Dates! Make plans now to join us for our Fall Regional Conferences (FRCs). FRCs provide your organization with the opportunity to source for candidates on a local level and help fulfill your fall recruitment needs.

Each FRC includes a Career Fair, where organizations can recruit the best and brightest engineering and other STEM talent. These unique, region-targeted events are the perfect venues to match qualified candidates with your open positions and internships on a national level as well as at your regional and district offices. The conferences enable students to find local job opportunities and are ideal for local employers looking to recruit top talent.

FRCs are a great way to engage directly with qualified, motivated Black engineering students. Space is limited, and exhibit space at many FRCs sells out each year. We encourage you to sign up early to secure your spot at one -- or all -- of our Fall Regional Conferences. We look forward to seeing you!
