Q: Is the deadline for the Fall Scholarship Cycle January 7,2022?
A: Yes, the applications will close on January 7, 11:59 PM EST.
Q: How can I determine if I am eligible for a scholarship?
A: Visit apply.nsbe.org, and on the welcome page, you will find the detailed criteria for each scholarship.
Q: Why can't I access the scholarships when I log into my dashboard?
A: To apply for NSBE scholarship opportunities, you MUST make sure the following task is completed before you can access the applications.
- Renew your NSBE membership for the year.
- Have a verified GPA in your membership profile.
- Complete and update the following fields in your membership profile: education level, major, citizenship status, chapter, and region.
Q: How do I know when my GPA has been verified?
A: When you log into your NSBECONNECT portal, you will see a confirmed GPA next to your "self-reported" GPA in the grayed-out box. If the box is blank, your GPA is not verified.
Q: How do I verify my GPA?

Q: I do not have a chapter advisor, or I am an At-Large member. How can I verify my GPA?
A: You must complete a GPA verification form, have it signed by the Office of Registrar or an Academic Advisor, and send the completed form to email@example.com.
Q: After I submit my GPA verification form, how long does it take to verify it?
Q: Three weeks is a long time not to access scholarships. What can I do during the black-out period to ensure I submit my applications on time?
- Make sure your GPA has been verified on your NSBECONNECT profile.
- Review the blank Fall Scholarship Cycle applications and begin writing your essays and obtaining required documents such as recommendation letters.
- Update your Resume.
Q: Will you accept my scholarship application if it is emailed?
A: We cannot accept emailed applications once the system is back up. All applicants must submit applications through the apply.nsbe.org scholarship portal.
How to Verify Your GPA
Collegiate Members will self - report their GPA on their profile and chapter advisors will approve it through the Educational Institution Portal in NSBEConnect. Please speak with your chapter advisor if they are not registered for access to the portal and ask them to complete this form. WHQ will no longer accept transcripts and members must work with their advisor to confirm their GPA in the Educational Institution Portal. If your chapter does not have an advisor, please complete this form GPA Collection Form and e-mail it to firstname.lastname@example.org. This form MUST be signed by the Office of Registrar or a University Official.
NSBE Jr. Members will submit their GPA using this GPA Collection Form. A counselor or school registrar MUST sign this form, please email all signed forms to email@example.com.

Academic Pyramid of Excellence (APEx)
To become an APEx member, you must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 or higher. GPA's are measured on a 4.0 grading scale.
There are three APEx Levels:
- APEx Honors: 3.6 - 4.0
- APEx Torchbearer: 3.2 - 3.5
- APEx Excel: 3.0- 3.1
